Kookie's Korner (Isa's Mom)

Hi...I am Isa's Mom

Isa has not been feeling good. She has lots of nausea and vomiting since she got back from her first chemo on February 21, 2010. I have tried to offer her foods that she likes (pancakes with chocolate chips) but she has not means of even a bite. I hate to see my daughter go through this. I wish I could take her place, but I can't. Everyday I tell her she has to fight back and not let it get her down.

  1. We all wish we could trade places with her, but we can't. She's a strong willed little girl and has lots of support and will get through this with flying colors!

  2. Hi there,

I go to Ivy Tech with Linda, my son Spencer is turning 5 in April and he is in remission from Clear Cell Sarcoma. He has been cancer free for almost 2 1/2 years now.

I wanted to let you know that we are praying for Isabel. I have been down the road you are now traveling. It is tough, bumpy, emotional, draining, etc. From the things Linda has said you are a very strong family and Isbael is a very strong little girl.

If you need anyone to talk to, that understands what you are going through please feel free to get in touch with me. God Bless Isabel!

  3. Hi Kookie! I'm Mike's sister from Indiana. Have they offered her anti-nausea medication? That worked well for my daughter maybe it could help Isa.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. I have Isa's picture as my wallpaper on my computer and every time I see her I am reminded to pray. Hang in there I know it's rough.

  4. Hi, My name is Amy and learned about Isabel through Angie Medeiros (she is married to my sister-in-law's brother, Frankie). My thoughts and prayers are with you, Isabel, and your family. I have an eleven year old daughter named Kaela. I can't even imagine what you all are going thru. Kaela has a rough enough time just being eleven, I couldn't imagine this on top of being an eleven year old girl.

Be strong in your faith! I know God has his healing hand on you, Isabel. Stay strong in your faith! My prayers are with you....stay beautiful!

Isa is doing a lot better. She is eating and fighting with her sisters.
We went to the Doctor today and they said her white blood cell count was low so, I have to watch out for her health a lot closer, til it goes up aging.

  11. Hi Kelly! Thank you for coming down to Children's Mercy Hospital to cut my hair. I know it was hard to cut my hair when it's falling off but I still liked it. Thank you
