Surgery Aging
She had sugery on Sept.29. Her leg was so infected that she almost lost her leg. The doctors removed the prosthetic bone and add a spacer . The spacer gives off antibiotics in her leg for infection. The spacer while remain in her leg unitl she finishes her chemo. Isa would not be able to walk until she has her 3rd surgery. So she will have a 3rd surgery to replace the spacer for a prosthetic bone ( the same thing she had the first time) by the end of Nov. or Dec.

ISA'S CHEMO
Isa is going back for chemo on September 30 for a 6 day stay. She had to stop chemo for 3 weeks because of the incision that would not close up. The doctors said it's best to wait a couple of weeks so the wound vac can do it's thing. Isa will have this machine a couple of weeks or until it heals up.
UPDATE ON ISA
Hi everyone sorry for not posting any updates on Isa . I am having trouble with my computer. I think it has a virus. Will any way ,Isa hand surgery on September 16,2010 for a wound vac. When Isa had her last surgery the incision she had was not closing up so she has a wound vac. A wound vac is a therapeutic techinque used to promte healing in acute or chronic wounds, fight infection and enhance healing. A vacuum source is used to create sub atmospheric pressure in the local wound. Isa's wound is doing alot better and closeing in.

Finally A Updated :)
Isa has been admitted today for her chemo May 5,2010. Over all she has mouth sores and has been taking her medication for pain. Her attitude has changed a lot. Very rude and moody.
I talked to the doctors and they said she will have surgery by the end of May but she will still have one more round of chemo ( 13 weeks more). She will have a scan of her leg and see how much caner is dead and then determined what type of surgery she will have.
This year has been our hardest of all but has been the fastest. We are all glade this is almost over!! God Bless All

Updates from Kookie
Isa is once again in the hospital...going through the second cycle of chemo. She had her first 2 hour drip on Thursday and has has her second 2 hour drip today, and tolerated them both beautifully so far. It is now 4:00 in the afternoon and she is a little worn out and taking a nap, but not feeling any nausea at all so far which is great news. Hopefully the anti-nausea medicine will do its job and she will not be sick and keep her appetite going strong...she's a strong little thing and all the prayers are certainly working! Thank you for all your prayers...

Kookie's Korner (Isa's Mom)
Hi...I am Isa's Mom
Isa has not been feeling good. She has lots of nausea and vomiting since she got back from her first chemo on February 21, 2010. I have tried to offer her foods that she likes (pancakes with chocolate chips) but she has not means of even a bite. I hate to see my daughter go through this. I wish I could take her place, but I can't. Everyday I tell her she has to fight back and not let it get her down.

Grandma says....
Dear Heavenly Father, please be with Isa and her family through this battle with Cancer. She is beginning her battle against this monster, but she has many weapons at her disposal. She has God, Faith, Love, Family, Her skilled doctors and professionals at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, the drugs...but it is little Isa that has to bear the brunt of this battle. Our hearts and love are there inside her to help her spirit...keep her fighting, keep her strong, wrap Your loving arms tightly around her...let this be a bump in our road, let this be a learning experience that we may grow and love each other and never take each other for granted. We love you Isa. Fight with all your might...each time you are sick, think of it as the BAD leaving your little body making room for all the good to grow and thrive. Chin up Baby
